History of Our Company
Privitt’s Wrecker Service, LLC has been in business since 1968. The original business was founded by Earl Privitt, and consisted of the wrecker service and salvage
yard together as one entity. Upon Mr. Earl’s retirement in 2013, the two businesses were split. Rickey Privitt and family acquired the wrecker service and began to put their knowledge, vision and grit to work.
Knowing the wrecker business like the back of his hand, and wanting to see his dad’s legacy continue, Rickey Privitt quit his full time job as a truck driver. In 2013, he
embarked on a journey that consisted of a 1994 Ford flatbed rollback on a wing and a prayer.
In 2015, his son Dale joining him as a driver, purchased another flatbed and he hit the ground running. Over the next several years, Dale learned all he needed to learn from the business: From driving and customer support to building an awesome team and relations with our customers.
Dale and his dad partnered in building Privitt’s Wrecker Service into the business it is today. Dale, determined to keep his granddads legacy and love for the business alive, is running a 40 ton Rotator, 25 ton Semi-Wrecker, 2 rollbacks and a service truck, and still growing.
In addition to the parent co., Privitt’s Wrecker Service, LLC, we have also incorporated a trucking side consisting of 5 daycabs running scrap in Tennessee and the surrounding states. We also, in 2025 branched out to add a second location in North Jackson/Three Way area to provide towing services in Jackson-Madison Co. and surrounding areas.
We have a wonderful team of 14 employees combined between the two businesses, which are not only dedicated employees but are an extension of our family. This
business would not be a success without the people who support and believe in us. All of us at Privitt’s, pride ourselves on customer service, being a trustworthy company and a professional with your property.
